Technical Details

By default, Istobe fetches a comma delimited or tab delimited product catalog file from an FTP location you specify daily. This file can be a Google Base product feed or any file containing the columns:

  • Description (optional)
  • Brand (optional)
  • Cost (optional)

Technical Details

We're new and adding features like crazy. Most of the time everything goes swimmingly. Occasionally new features don't work as advertised.

The upside of using Istobe while we're in beta is that we're very responsive to customer feature requests. Want new functionality? Just let us know and we sometimes can get it done for you within a week.

The downside is that sometimes we'll go down for a couple of minutes and your customers won't see any recommendations at all. It usually doesn't happen more than once a month and the rest of your site is not affected, but we think it's bad form, nonetheless.
